Brian Saeger
Brian started practicing yoga in 1994 and began teaching in 1996. He came to find yoga at a time in his life that he was learning to listen to his inner guidance. From a challenging childhood, there was always a feeling of not living his truth. So shame, guilt, and frustration followed him daily. When he was twenty, he had his first unmistakeable religious experience. Everything changed in that moment, and from there on, he did everything he could to connect to his inner guidance. That has been the foundation of his spiritual life ever since.
He soon left his home town and went to Salt Lake where he studied massage therapy at Utah College of Massage Therapy. Yoga was, for Brian, an obvious fit; it has been both a way to free himself from the energetic binds of fear and insecurity and a way for him to courageously accept or change challenging things about himself. He has been blessed with amazing teachers that held his hand through hard lessons and has been involved in mens' work as a way of getting more grounded and clear. In 2001, he spent a month in a Sivananda teacher training in Grass Valley California. In 2004, he studied under Suddha Weixler at the Chicago Yoga Center. It's common to come into a class and have the theme be something that Brian has learned along the way or more often something that he is in the process of gaining more power over. Brian leads a nurturing flow with the foundation based in pranayama and encourages his students to play their edges, but not lose their connection to energetic composure whether on the mat or off.
