Yoga Classes

Yoga is a Sanskrit word that literally means “to yoke” or “to bind,” and is loosely translated as “union.”  The goal is to unify the body, mind, and spirit through mindful movement.  Quite literally, you are linking movement, both external physical movement and internal subtle movement, with breath, thereby building a bridge between your mind and body.

As one of our teachers says, “Yoga is not about being flexible.  It's about meeting your inflexibility with kindness.”

Whether you're just starting your yoga practice or have been practicing for years, we offer classes for any level.  You will build strength, flexibility, and peace of mind. See our schedule or more details.

Yoga Class Descriptions

Restorative Vinyasa Flow

Restorative Vinyasa blends the healing and connecting power of Restorative Yoga with the fun and flow of an energized Vinyasa practice. This class is  designed to allow the student to ease into a receptive state, using the same principles as in an alignment-based vinyasa flow class.  The unity of breath with movement connects the mind and the body, while gentle holds allow postures to be fully expressed, enlivening their restorative power.

Vinyasa Flow: All Levels

This class is a vinyasa-style (flowing breath to movement) practice that energizes your body, mind and spirit. Through the use of mindful sequencing, key actions will be integrated and introduced to create an energetic alignment from which one can find freedom and strength during this flow practice.   Expect to sweat, to be challenged, to build strength and flexibility.

Vinyasa Flow: Level 2

Move, breathe, and awaken in this fun and energetic flow. With emphasis on deep inner kindness, we explore both movement and stillness in this challenging yet supportive class. (Recommended for students with a basic understanding of yoga postures and safe alignment)

Restorative Yin Yoga

This practice combines the benefits of both styles of yoga. Restorative yoga is a soothing and nurturing practice that promotes the effects of conscious relaxation. It is a gentle, therapeutic style of yoga that uses props to support the body to deepen the benefits of the poses. Yin yoga targets the connective tissues, joints, bones and ligaments. It reaches deep muscles rather than just focusing on superficial ones, allowing for a strong and lasting connection between body and mind. The blend of these two practices together leaves the student feeling deeply nourished, open and revitalized.

Intuitive Flow

This class is a pranayama (breath) based class. It is vinyasa flow style, but the foundation of the class is to deeply combine the pranayama practice with the sensations of asana and explore what happens in this process.

Hatha Yoga

(Ha=Sun, Tha=Moon). Each Hatha class is a well-rounded full body experience, tailored to student needs, weaving breath practice, flowing asana, stillness (yin), and strong (yang) poses, culminating in relaxation (Savasana).  Alternating between stillness and movement allows us to balance the masculine and feminine, yang and yin, energies of the sun and moon within us, creating compassion, strength, and connection to ourselves and others.

Foundations of Yoga

In this interactive class, you will be led through a flowing series of fundamental yoga postures that create the foundation for more advanced classes, while having the freedom to ask any and all questions that come up for you.  Key elements of alignment will be illuminated to ensure that you enter your yoga practice with the knowledge you need to keep your body safe and injury-free!

Kundalini Yoga

Kundalini Yoga is an ancient technology of breath, movement, mantra and meditation. This yoga empowers you to build core strength and endurance, clear energetic/emotional channels, balance ?hormones, cleanse your blood, rebuild your nervous system, and integrate brain hemisphere activity. Effects include a radiant mind, open heart and an elevated spirit! All levels are welcome!

Qi Yoga Flow

This class begins with the subtle energy cultivation techniques of qigong, building to a challenging yoga flow.  Open yourself to the life force of the universe while cultivating peace and strength.
